Our first Farmers Market spotlight of the season, Casondra & Jimmy Myers of @front9farm! Not only are they farm friends of ours, but the ones who encouraged us to start hosting these markets in the first place a few years ago! We are thrilled to start them up again for the winter season and provide this family and other local vendors with the location to serve you all with fresh ingredients you'll need for your Thanksgiving meal. Stop by this Saturday, 11/23, between 9 and noon to cross a few grocery items off your shopping list! 👍📝🥕

“Since we started our farm in 2015 we've been growing a large diversity of vegetables, (including everything from tomatoes, to lettuce, to onions) year-round using ecologically-intensive techniques on one acre of production, as well as rotational/y grazing sheep and chickens on 10 acres of pasture. We sell our vegetables through a large CSA program as well as at local farmers markets. A lot of people are surprised that we're able to grow enough produce to supply farmers' market through the winter months her in Ohio, but we're able to do this by protecting cold-tolerant crops from the harsh weather using our low tunnels and high tunnels, and also by selecting crops and varieties which are the most cold tolerant. Winter vegetables have exceptional flavor because plants must compensate for the harsh winter conditions. We focus on growing the best tasting, most nutrient dense produce, grown with the least amount of environmental impact. We will have a lot of great winter produce available at the Boyert's Farmers Market, including a large amount of root vegetables and leafy greens.”
